Rashmi and Anuj

Rashmi and Anuj’s love story is straight out of a movie! Rashmi and Anuj lived in the same building and they were best friends for 18 years, and then, voila, they fell in love and got married! Anuj remembers that he saw Rashmi for the first time when she moved into the house under his, at the Gruhapravesha. She was sitting with her cousins and he went up to her and introduced himself, and they became best friends ever since. Rashmi remembers meeting Anuj for the first time in a pink frock, and fast forward some 18-odd years, she’s marrying him in a pink sari. Do you have tears yet, because we do!

The one thing Anuj and Rashmi were sure of is that they wanted a fun wedding! They wanted their friends and family to have fun at their wedding, to drink, to dance and just be merry. The couple wanted their loved ones to have a blast and make memories that would last them a lifetime. The couple was planning the wedding from the USA, while their families were back in India. Anuj recalls being woken up by his mother at 6 am to discuss wedding details, which he felt was refreshing yet oh-so nostalgic. Rashmi and Anuj kicked off the wedding festivities with pre-wedding dance parties. They met some friends after almost 2 years, so these dance parties were a great way to catch up, spend some quality time with their friends and just have an absolute blast. They also had a haldi ceremony where the couple definitely couldn’t take their eyes off each other!

After the pre-wedding festivities, Rashmi and Anuj had two main functions: the sangeet and the muhurtham, both of which took place at Peacock Grove. They started off their festivities with the sangeet. The couple agrees that the sangeet was the function where they had the most fun! The elders from both sides got onto the dance floor to shake a leg and that was probably the highlight of the sangeet! Rashmi said she heard the food was amazing, but she was too busy dancing to even try the food; our endless photographs of her and Anuj on the dance floor are proof of that too. The couple showed off their moves with a dance performance to pumping numbers such as ‘Buddhu sa mann’, ‘Sooraj ki baahon mai’ and ‘Rangi saari’.

Then was the muhurtham, which Rashmi feels was an absolute blur. Things went by so quickly that she couldn’t remember exactly what was happening at what point; Rashmi said our photographs sure helped her remember and cherish the special moments. Rashmi said, “To be honest, we were just so excited and happy to be in that space together, that nothing else even mattered.” A special shoutout to their wedding decorator, House of Taarin, who understood exactly what the couple wanted and created venues that were nothing short of perfection!

When we sat down with Rashmi before the wedding, we asked her what kind of photography she wanted and we were also curious to know what made her choose us. She said, “I was looking at many wedding photographers on Instagram and I realised that I kept going back to the Light Bucket Productions Instagram page to compare photographs, and I always ended up liking your photographs better. Honestly, the composition of the photographs and the way your team edits the landscapes in portraits are two things that really stood out for me. You see, I am an architectural designer and the way I edit my greens is very similar to the way you edit your landscape portraits.” Once the wedding functions were over, Rashmi sent us a really sweet message about how she had a great experience with our team. She talked about how everyone was friendly and cooperative, and highly responsive which made her enjoy her experience all the more. Happy clients, happy photographers!
